Hello — what I'm building in 2026

This site is new, so a first post to set the table.

I'm a software engineer in Lagos. Most of my time goes into two things: Nafara, a healthcare marketplace I founded that connects patients with MRTB-verified physiotherapists — built WhatsApp-first, because that's where Nigerian patients actually are — and Adewumi Studio, my engineering practice, which has spent this year shipping commerce platforms, an EMR, and a fashion brand site.

What "WhatsApp-first" means in practice

Everyone says "meet users where they are." In Lagos, where they are is WhatsApp. So Nafara's booking flow doesn't start in an app store — it starts in a chat. The web platform behind it does the heavy lifting: verification against the MRTB register, scheduling, Paystack payments, and a test suite (535+ and growing) that lets me change things without fear.

What the studio shipped

Two-city commerce with server-side re-pricing (Melanin Skin City), a privacy-first period tracker where cycle data belongs to its owner alone (iWoman), a multi-vendor marketplace with dual payment rails (Zahara Mall), a clinic site and greenfield EMR (Tafo Rehab), and a TinaCMS-powered brand site on Cloudflare (Dilara). What's next

Nafara's WhatsApp MVP, launching the studio builds that are done but not yet live, and writing more here — engineering notes, mostly: the unglamorous decisions that make products hold up.
